November 11th is Veterans Day, a federally observed holiday to honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. This year, the California Immunization Coalition (CIC) and other statewide immunization coalitions have joined together to recognize veterans for their service and sacrifice while also promoting immunizations — another way that veterans help protect our country. And in turn, by staying up to date on our vaccinations to ensure community immunity, we all can band together to protect our veterans.

The CIC encourages all of our partners to use this annual observance to remind our community about the importance of being up to date on recommended vaccines.

National immunization partners have developed a digital communication toolkit with messages and graphics tailored to Veterans Day, emphasizing the importance of vaccination for veterans and the community. The contents can be easily shared through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
